IMPORTANT FIRE NOTICE

The results of the most recent Fire Risk Assessment are available on our website:- https://www.tolseyquay.co.uk (the password is Battle1471)

As a consequence the Fire Service has asked that you be reminded of certain actions that need your immediate and ongoing attention:-

DOORS:- Each individual flat has one or two front doors. These are fire doors and are designed to act as a buffer between a fire in your flat and the common areas and people passing to escape.

These doors must never be wedged open and must be maintained to ensure easy self closing.

SMOKE ALARMS:- Each flat should be equipped with at least one smoke alarm (tested and in working order) in a suitable location:- (https://www.fireservice.co.uk/safety/smoke-alarms/)

You can request a home survey from the Fire Service when they will fit a smoke alarm for you FREE OF CHARGE. call 0800 180 4140 to arrange this.

It is ILLEGAL for rented flats not to have smoke alarms. If you are renting - request they be fitted from your landlord or agent.

FIRE NOTICE:- In the entrance lobby of each block there is a FIRE NOTICE - READ IT!

Ensure that you are familiar with the fire alarm call point location on each landing.

FLAMMABLE ITEMS:- No flammable items eg furniture, ornaments, clothing (no matter how small) are to be sited/left/stored in any of the common areas nor in any of the cupboards in the common areas.

This includes dried/plastic flowers, Christmas decorations/wreaths and pictures that are not behind glass etc.

TRIP HAZARDS:- No item (whether flammable of not) should be left in any common area which can constitute a trip hazard.

Door mats must be small, as thin as possible and be kept perfectly flat at all times.

The only exceptions to the above is for those blocks that have an under stairs area on the ground floor where adult strollers and baby pushchairs may be stored in the short term, provided that there is no projection into a footway.

Bikes (for all ages) and children’s toys/scooters are not acceptable in common areas so should be kept in garages, as should mobility scooters.

PLEASE NOTE:- Failure to adhere to the above could leave you liable to prosecution and/or termination of your lease - whether owned or renting.
